Help with Xbox 360 controller and PC?

I’m running windows 7 64 bit. I’m trying to connect my xbox 360 wireless controller to my computer via a play-and-charge kit. I’ve installed the drivers from the Microsoft website. When I plug the controller in via USB, the lights simply turn on and off, as if looking for the xbox. I used to use this controller on a 360, but I got a better one and would like to use this on my PC. I even put the controller in discovery mode, but the guide light keeps spinning. I looked at JOY.CPL, but the controller is not listed. I looked in Devices and Printers, and the controller is clearly listed there. How can I get it to work with my games, since it’s not being discovered as a controller/joystick by my computer?

What is wrong with my routers?

All right, I actually have 2 routers, but only 1 connection (so only 1 is running at a time). They are both wireless G routers and both linksys. I know there is not interference from someone near by, because my closest neighbor is about a mile away. The router is in the basement, two floors below where I normally am.

For the longest time, I had the older linksys (sorry I don’t know the model numbers or anything) going, it has 2 directional antennas on it. I left this router unsecured because it was easier at the same time. For the most part that one worked just fine. My wireless printer was connected to it, and everything worked no problem. Except for the occasional internet disconnection. The signal was still there but I’d just lose internet ability. All we had to do was reset the router and it would be fine. This had no effect on my printer connected to it or anyone’s computer; the one computer, at the time, that was on a wired connection never had this problem.

Now, my mom just got a new computer so she got her own router then along with her own wireless printer and a computer with a wireless card. I set everything up; secured this router and connected her computer and printer to the network. (I have windows 7, so I hadn’t set up my printer to the new network.) After a few days the router randomly switched from secured to unsecured. Ever since then that one would constantly drop signal where I am, or switch from a linksys (2) and a linksys (5) and would prevent me from connecting to it, and my mom would have to call HP (printer model) and have them guide her through reinstalling her printer again.

I have now switched back to the old router that I had set up before, and the problem seems to have stopped. But time will only tell. Can someone help me with either of the two router problems? It is very annoying and stressful, considering I get blamed and charged with fixing it.

How can I connect my Xbox360 to my Laptop?

I use an Acer Aspire 5920, Windows 7. I want to use the monitor to play instead of my TV, is this possible and how do I do it?

My TV is a crappy 14inch, standard def, glass screened, massive bulky thing… it’s actually a ‘portable’ or as I like to call it a not-so-but-apparently-portable TV from the 90’s… it only cost £5.00 – dont judge :P

But I want to play off my High Def, High Res, LCD laptop moniter.

What cables and stuff do I need?

An online illustrated guide would be most helpful.
Thanks
I have Xbox Live Gold (( AndiiHill ))
I use my xbox 360 as a media extender on my laptop at the moment also.

Help with downloading/using GIMP (or another photoshop program) please!?!?

Okay, so for the last little while, i’ve been trying to kind of teach myself how to do photoshopping. Nothing fancy or professional of course, but just to edit some of my pictures for fun.
I’ve actually been using a thing called Sumo Paint, but it’s not as well-known as gimp, so there isn’t as many people able to help me or show me how to use it.

So I went to gimp a bit ago to download it, but I can’t figure out how to download the program! I feel really stupid, but (on the download page) anything i click leads me to some stupid website that doesn’t matter and I can’t figure out how do download it!!

(this is the page i’m on: http://www.gimp.org/downloads/ )

I have windows 7, so can someone please tell me how to download the program??

And also, would anyone happen to know of any online guide type things that could be helpful? Like little walkthroughs of how to use certain parts of gimp?

Thanks!!!!
